Dr. Yuri Maltsev to expose evils of socialism at Fond du Lac event

Here is the press release for an event that no one who cares about American liberty vs. socialism/Marxism should miss:

The Fond du Lac TEA Party, together with the Mayville TEA Party and Sheboygan Liberty Coalition, will host Dr. Yuri Maltsev, professor of economics at Carthage College, to discuss with interested citizens the horrors of socialism as witnessed by him while growing up in the U.S.S.R. Before defecting to the United States in 1989, Dr. Maltsev was a member of a senior Soviet economics team which worked on President Gorbachev’s reforms package under “perestroika.” Dr. Maltsev is an articulate speaker and a well-published writer, with his most recent article, “Lessons from Soviet Medicine,” published this summer in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons. (He also penned the book, Requiem for Marx, which gives his first hand account of life in a Marxist Russia.)

Dr. Maltsev will speak at the North Fond du Lac PAC, located inside Horace Mann High School, on Sunday, July 10th at 1:00p.m. There is no cost for admission (just a free will offering) and interested members of the general public are invited to attend as guest of the Fond du Lac TEA Party group. Seating is limited, but preferred seats can be reserved by registering at fdlteaparty@att.net or signing the guest book at www.fdltea.com. General admission seating will be available at the door.

The FDL TEA Party has held several successful events since April of 2009, drawing the participation of thousands of everyday citizens from all over the state who are looking to get back to the founding principle of “We the People.”

Be there.

Da Unions buying the democrats loyalty...

Here comes the special interest money from the unions to their employees, Wisconsin Democrats.

For all the griping you hear from the left about special interest money it is amazing how willingly they take cash in busloads from 'da union.

It must be coincidence that this came in just AFTER the quarterly financials reports were due.

Our Tax Dollars at work - In China!!

At first I did not believe what I read, but it is true. The Emperor's National Institute of Health is spending $2.6 Million of our tax dollars to study why and suggest how CHINESE PROSTITUTES can drink less and smoke less pot while on the job! Claiming that it is for the benefit of our US population to study the Chinese habits of prostitutes.

What absolute lunacy!!

That hurt.

Ken Rosenthal on the All Star selections...

The Final Man vote for the 34th spot on each roster will account for two more selections. Other players will be added because of injuries. Starting pitchers scheduled to pitch next Sunday will be ruled ineligible, creating more openings.

In the end, more than 10 percent of the 750 major leaguers are likely to be named All-Stars. By the time the players take the field in Phoenix on July 12 (FOX, 8 p.m. ET), just about everyone but Yuniesky Betancourt will cash an All-Star incentive.

Hey, lay off my man Yuni-B!

Peoria is a lot like Milwaukee.

I saw this story while in Peoria over the weekend.

In it Martha Ross, Peoria's longest serving school board member, complains about the process of selecting a school board president.

"We as a board are supposed to model how we want our children to perform. We want our children to treat each other fairly ... but yet I really feel that is not what is happening with this board and it is a personal feeling that I have not been treated fairly for whatever reason," Ross said during the meeting, adding that "it has the appearance in this community as being discriminatory and biased."

Martha Ross is an African American female.

The board selected Linda Butler as President, also an African American female.

If you remember how much that devil, G.W. Bush, was ridiculed for being a complete moron for saying the "the Google", what do you think the media will do when the smartest president ever calls for more computers in the classroom with "internets"?
Oh that's right...

Homeland security embraces Shariah Law?!

Mr. Obama has nominated David Heyman as Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and at the same agency, Secretary Janet Napolitano has appointed Arif Alikhan as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development.

What the Emperor and Napolitano did not bother to include in this announcement about these nominations:

Both men are devout, Shariah Law Muslims! This administration continues to pander to Islam and supposed "political correctness."

Let me be EXTREMELY clear here - I am NOT anti Muslim, but I AM pro US Constitution! To put people who are active supporters of Shariah law is incompatible with our own laws. Are we to believe that they could divorce their actions within the department from their CORE beliefs about Shariah law vs. US Constitutional Laws? Not likely!

Shariah Law (which both of these men have shown to advocate by their associations and activities) supports the establishment of a global Islamic state whose objectives are not compatible with the United States Constitution, the civil rights the Constitution guarantees and the representative, accountable government it authorizes. Already, Shariah Law has crept into the laws of several cities in the United States of America.

Once again the Emperor shows where his core philosophies will lead us if we let him continue. Are we going to allow this erosion of
our own basic laws to continue under the regime of the Emperor?

Be afraid - be very afraid - if these and other appointments like these are not challenged and defeated.

Then and now, can't trust Obama edition.

Then:  December 2010, Obama agrees to extend the Bush tax cuts two more years.

Now: July 5, 2011, Obama says we must increase taxes on the wealthy.

Question:  How can Republican Congressional leaders trust Obama when entering negotiations on extending the debt limit when Obama is reneging on a deal he made just 8 months ago?

Answer:  You can not trust Obama.

Obvious but lost:  Our problem is not that we tax too little our problem is that we spend too much. (And in my opinion we tax too much too)

Lost in this discussion:  No matter how much crying the left does, the "rich" do pay their fair share, and then some.

New Poll...

There is a new poll on the side bar, go vote.

Government Run Everything.

This is an article from the Saturday Evening Post, October 3, 1936.  Read it in context of the issues of debt facing us today.

October 17, 1936 - Article - Government Run Everything, by John Raymond McCarl

Why was economy the outstanding issue in the 1932 campaign, and who made it dominant in that contest? Because , in an effort to ease artificially the damaging effects of the financial upheaval, the Republican Administration had made use of the Federal Treasury; it had made large expenditures in an effort to assist agriculture, to aid business and avoid further unemployment, to help care for the needy, and to save institutions with far-flung obligations to the people, the collapse of which would have brought further disaster. It was costing money - consuming our income and substantially increasing the public debt. The Democrats challenged this spending and public-debt building. Its 1932 platform condemned it bitterly and pledged its immediate end. The only way out, it urged, was to economize, discontinue wasteful Government bureaus, cut Government costs and make every dollar count. "Quit borrowing and spending" was their battle cry.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, as its nominee for the presidency, led the fight - and with such vigor as to show utter sincerity and equally sincere alarm. Such spending and debt building would wreck us. It must be stopped. He could and would stop it. He would immediately reduce Government costs by at least 25%, and would fire any Cabinet officer who failed to save as much. The voters approved with such unanimity that it was a landslide for "economy in Government." President Roosevelt and an overwhelming Democratic majority in both Houses of Congress were commissioned by the people to stop Government spending, to rid us of useless agencies and to cut the cost of Government.

In view of these things, had anyone the slightest notion on March 9, 1933, when the economy Congress was convened in special session to carry out this program, that within three short months it was not only to ignore its promise but was to be given a series of legislative contortions new in the history of representative government? That is was to appropriate all the income the heavy taxes would raise, but additional billions of dollars raised by borrowing, and through surrendering its right and ignoring its duty to direct and safeguard the uses of such fabulous sums, to subject the country to the tender mercies of the great experimenters, the New Dealers, and their wild spending and fantastic schemes?

The members of that Congress knew what they were doing. They were not fooled. The knew that under our Constitution the people had reserved to themselves the right, acting through their representatives constituting the Congress, to say what governmental activities there should be, and just how activities should function. This through control of the purse strings. Such control is essential to self-government, but it contemplates that the representatives of the people will be faithful to their promises. (pg. 8)

Comments: The first page of this article had a picture of job listings that were advertized outside a Chicago employment agency. The article pointed out that "takers are scarce" for these jobs. For example, a factory polish buffer could make 60¢ - 90¢ per hour. A carpenter could make 50¢ - 70¢ per hour. A dishwasher job was advertized at $10 per week. I'd bet that people didn't walk past pennies that they saw lying in the parking lot back in those days without picking them up.
