Welcome to Real Debate Wisconsin (RDW). This is primarily a conservative blog but we always welcome input from all points of view. Things get heated upon occasion but we ask that our readers do their best to keep things civil and respect all participants. Say it isn't so!
With all the left wingers in this area how is it possible that the area's ONLY Smart dealership is closing? You would think that with all of those guilty environmental consciences business would be booming!

That's a lot money for the Democrats and the unions (but I repeat myself) to throw a temper tantrum.
That is not what Democracy looks like.

Herb Kohl is Retiring.
(D)
(R)
What do you see?
Random thoughts:
* Paul Ryan will not run for this seat. Going from the Chair of the budget committee to junior Senator from Wisconsin is a demotion.
* Tammy Baldwin - She is just crazy enough to think she would have state-wide appeal, expect her to run.
* Russ Feingold will milk this for all it is worth, he'll pretend he isn't interested until the left begs him into it.
* Mark Neumann - He'll talk a lot but he is still stinging from how much of his own money he put into the race for Governor.
* Tom Barrett - He'll pretend to be interested and then do nothing, much like his tenure as Mayor of Milwaukee.

Your cell phone now a direct link to the ultimate SOURCE of safety
Your president, who, just like how he got Bin Laden when no one else could (praise him), will now tell you what is really happening around the country, and inform you about what to do during terror, moment to moment, all while keeping track of where you are in case you forget. He'll just sound the word and people will scamper wherever he says like good little Sims in SimNation. Doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?
And who needs the middle men and women in local or national news anymore to keep you up-to-date when you can have a direct personal relationship with the head honcho? The only drawback is the technology to allow the instructions chip to be implanted into your brain is still just a joke. But science could do wondrous things in the service of hope and change.

Klopocrisy
If you have not been following No Runny Eggs' daily recount reports you should be.
Check out this gem...
Dane County’s minutes of the recount provide a rather interesting read. There were several torn ballot bags in the city of Madison, several instances of ballot bag seal numbers missing from the inspectors’ reports, ballots from two reporting units in two different municipalities that were initially missing from the recount room (both stacks of which favored Prosser in what were communities that were overwhelmingly carried by Kloppenburg, and which did not affect the pre-recount net margins once added), and an instance where an absentee ballot not cast at the municipal clerk’s office lacked a witness signature yet was counted both at the polls on election day and by the recount canvass board. I don’t need to tell you that there were no objections from the Kloppenburg campaign over any of this.
There was, however, an objection from the “non-partisan” Kloppenburg campaign on another ballot. In Madison’s Ward 59, the canvassers ruled a ballot that had a write-in for “Democratic one above” as a “scattering”; the Kloppenburg campaign wanted it counted for her.
It would seem the Kloppenburg campaign is ok with unwitnessed absentee ballots and non properly sealed bags as long as they are in liberal Dane County.
Kloppenburg wants to be a Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice but she wants to apply rules based on geography. I guess some votes count more than others.

This recount will be drug into the courts...
From today's Milwaukee Journal, "Kloppenburg said it was premature to say whether she would challenge the results of the recount in court."
Meaning she will absolutely challenge this in court.

...Whiskey. Tango. FOXTROT?!?!
We're all supposed to become consumers and not producers??
THIS is our "leader?" The Chosen One that will lead America to prosperity??
And don't forget to back up your BS doctrine with a COMPLETELY unprovable point: "by some estimates...."
Can anyone tell me how this is defensible? Anyone? Anyone?
Bueller?
This should be the main campaign ad from ANYONE running against him from any party in 2012. What a joke. The only thing this community organizer will ever do is organize the destruction of the American dream.

The Union Community Calendar
For those looking for something to do this Saturday...

Fire up the presses for the prefab T-shirts and signs, it's yet another rally. At what point do they,
A) Come up with a new idea to promote their cause
B) Realize that the average working-class joe doesn't sympathize
AND/OR
C) Actually look at the writing on the wall and see where the Governor's budget goes.

A rally in support of moving Wisconsin forward is being planned for Saturday, May 14, at the State Capitol in Madison. We Are Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Wave are hosting the rally, with music scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and speakers at 3 p.m.
