Equity bites.

The liberal left is completely out of their minds over the Supreme Court.

They won't tell you the real reason, so I will.

Yesterday the meme was how completely out of line one jurist's response was to comments in the State of the Union speech. The simple fact is the President, Barack Oblame-A showed a complete lack of class when he criticized the court in the speech.

Justice Alito's response was not out of line. All of the left wingers, including our very own Russ Feingold, who showed ire at Alito instead of the President are just showing their partisan sides. Apparently these practitioners of decorum never watched their own responses during any of President Bush's State of the Union speeches.

The real issue here is equity.

By banning corporate money in politics and allowing special interest money, especially unions, the left has enjoyed a massive advantage in money.

The Supreme Court decision could serve to level the playing field a bit.

And we all know how much the left hates not having the advantage. This may swing some elections away from the margin of ACORN.

This was not about precedent, this is about money pure and simple. The left has enjoyed a massive advantage in special interest money and they are afraid they just lost their advantage.

It really is that simple.

Hurray! The economy and unemployment must be all better!

After all Barack Oblame-A now has the time to focus on College Football.

Que?

So the POTUS gave his “STFU, sit down and accept what’s coming” speech the other nite .
Is he stupid or does he think you are?

First, he says that America will double its exports in the next 5 years.
Que?
What the hell are we going to export, BO?
What does the world want so badly of ours, that we will be doubling the exports in the future? iPods? iPads (don’t get me started…)
‘Cause speaking as a Wisconsinite, government jobs just surpassed manufacturing jobs in this state.
Can we export Doyle?
THAT would be awesome!
Late, but awesome.

He said the actions of the Supreme Court (overturning McCain-Feiny) would allow special interests – including foreign corporations – to spend without limits.
Que?
Has this idiot even read the expenditure of “home-grown” special interests?
Oh, that’s right, that’s probably too long of a read for him.
So I’ll narrow it down to two words: George Soros.

He says that he is “tired of partisanship” and bickering stopping his agenda.
QUE??!
No, scratch that.
The proper response is WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??!?!?!?!!?
Oh Exalted One, please, for us simpletons, please tell us who did that.
Who is stopping your grand vision?
Name names so we may stone them.
Was it that mean lady from Louisiana who cost $300Million just to win over and vote for your wonderful plan?
Was it the crotchety old man in Nebraska who wanted your vision so bad that he was willing to not pay for it?
Was it because those fools just didn’t know how great you want to make MY COUNTRY, BO?
Is that who you meant?
Or did you mean the castrated republicans?

I ask you, was Lincoln wrong or is there truly hope on the horizon?

Olympics Fever

Do you have it?

Way to watch the pennies Nancy...

$2,100,744.59 over a two year period for Speaker Nancy Pelosi's travel expenses.

She is running a party plane, $101,429.14 alone for food and drink. Check this one out...

One CODEL traveling from Washington, DC, through Tel Aviv, Israel to Baghdad, Iraq May 15-20, 2008, “to discuss matters of mutual concern with government leaders” included members of Congress and their spouses and cost $17,931 per hour in aircraft alone. Purchases for the CODEL included: Johnny Walker Red scotch, Grey Goose vodka, E&J brandy, Bailey’s Irish Crème, Maker’s Mark whiskey, Courvoisier cognac, Bacardi Light rum, Jim Beam whiskey, Beefeater gin, Dewars scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin, Jack Daniels whiskey, Corona beer and several bottles of wine.

Corona? How much are we spending on limes for the speaker? At least she could use a domestic beer! I bet those weren't even California wines.

Iraq War Probe

I'm not sure how much of this you are getting in the news but across the pond here it's the hot topic. Former PM Tony Blair was interrogated today at the Iraq Inquiry.

These guys could give the UW Marching band a run for their money

And we can barely do the wave.

Obama orders KSK trial moved out of New York.

They are apparently looking for other places to have it.

I suggest Chicago..

Or San Francisco.

Wait, forget San Francisco, they would find him not guilty then elect him Mayor.

How bad are things for Obama...

He is even losing Obama-Girl.

$810 Million of your money

$810 million of your money is about to be wasted extending Hiawatha service to the Madison airport. Yes, this does not even go to downtown Madison.

Effective transit needs riders, there will be some call for this but not enough to support this long-term.

The net effect is stimulus dollars get the ball rolling and Wisconsin will be left with the long-term tab.

TOTUS' Of The Union Speech

I had to work late last night, didn't hear it, didn't see it, don't know anything that was said, but here is a thread for you to discuss it.

Ole & Sven

Ole and Sven die in a snowmobiling accident, drunker than skunks, and go to Hell.

The Devil observes that they are really enjoying themselves. He says to them 'Doesn't the heat and smoke bother you? Ole replies, 'Vell, ya know, ve're from nordern Minnesooota, da land of snow an ice, an ve're yust happy fer a chance ta varm up a little bit, ya know.'

The devil decides that these two aren't miserable enough and turns up the heat even more.

When he returns to the room of the two guys from Minnesota , the devil finds them in light jackets and hats, grilling Walleye and drinking beer.

The devil is astonished and exclaims, 'Everyone down here is in abject misery, and you two seem to be enjoying yourselves?'

Sven replies, 'Vell, ya know, ve don't git too much varm veather up dere at da Falls, so ve've yust got ta haff a fish fry vhen da veather's dis nice.'

The devil is absolutely furious. He can hardly see straight. Finally he comes up with the answer. The two guys love the heat because they have been cold all their lives. The devil decides to turn all the heat off in Hell. The next morning, the temperature is 60 below zero, icicles are hanging everywhere, and people are shivering so bad that they are unable to wail, moan or gnash their teeth.

The devil smiles and heads for the room with Ole and Sven. He gets there and finds them back in their parkas, bomber hats, and mittens. They are jumping up and down, cheering, yelling and screaming like mad men.

The devil is dumbfounded, 'I don't understand, when I turn up the heat you're happy. Now its freezing cold and you're still happy. What is wrong with you two?'

They both look at the devil in surprise and say, 'Vell, don't ya know, if hell iss froze over, dat must mean da Vikings von da Super Bowl'

Woman hits Walgreens store with car

RACINE - An 84-year-old Racine woman ran into the side of a Walgreens store Sunday morning.

Around 11:15 a.m., the woman was trying to park her car on the east side of Walgreens, 4810 Washington Ave., but instead of parking she just kept going. The woman hit the store's brick wall with the front of her car, police said.

There was no damage to the building but the woman's car's front end was smashed up. The woman was taken to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hopsital for complaints of mild pain. No one else was involved in the incident, police said.

Why do Wisconsin legislators refuse to deal with this issue?

As an example, in Illinois elderly drivers have to take a road test every year. In Wisconsin there is no road test requirement and the only test required for license renewals is an eye exam every eight years.

Robert Gibbs Joins Obama - Says Massachusetts' Vote Was Not Against Obama's Radical Agenda

Denial is not just a river in Egypt...

The hate left is doing us more good than harm.

Some time ago I dubbed Capper the King of the local Hate Left, a title he has worn with pride.

His rhetoric has not calmed in the least though his focus has narrowed to be primarily Scott Walker rage. Sure, he has his moments beyond Walker. His latest...

Which is worse?
That Massachusetts has condemned hundreds of thousands of people to their deaths or that the right wing is celebrating the mass murder?

That's a fine example of Capper's usual brand of hatred. If he really thought this was mass murder though why hasn't he been calling out Democratic leadership for not having the health care bill go into effect until after the next Presidential election? According to his standard they are committing mass murder in favor of politics aren't they?

Why not point out Massachusetts Democrats for losing Ted Kennedy's seat?

I was reading Denis Navratil's blog last night when he mentioned having fun watching Blue Racine go into hysterics over the Brown win. That prompted me to do something I know I should not do which was click over and have a look for myself.

They can barely start a new thread without throwing around Tea bagger and labeling anyone who does not agree with them insane. By the way, they blame Massachusetts on the DNC for picking a bad candidate failing to see that it was Democrats behavior and policies that caused that loss.

By the way Blue Racine, you spell Coakley with an e. Maybe you should not blame the DNC when you can't even get the candidates name right? Oh well, the candidate could not spell Massachusetts so we should probably give you that one.

You've likely seen the unhinged rantings of Keith Olbermann discussed at length. Picture that, but twice as angry and three times as vulgar and you get Blue Racine. They seem even angrier than the last time I went there. Oh well, they'll photoshop a picture and call me names for pointing it out, they always do.

Folkbum's joint is usually one of the more civilized left wing blogs. Check out what goes for civilized these days.

Movie critic Roger Ebert gives the Nazi Gasbag Rush Limbaugh both well deserved barrels over typical El Rotundo's psychopathic remarks about channeling aid to Haiti on the White House site:

Nazi gasbag?

That's from uber hater Keith Schmitz who graces our pages now and again with his views. always illustrative. There are other examples at Folkbum's joint, look for yourself.

That's not in comments folks, that is what kicks off a posting in Folkbum world these days.

By the way, Folkbum also blamed Coakley's crushing defeat on her being a bad candidate rather than give an honest explanation of the mood of the country.

If you haven't heard, Scott Baio has faced death threats for suggesting on his Twitter feed that Michelle Obama is ugly.

You can certainly argue that was in bad taste, but death threats?

This morning on Charlie Sykes' show Jeff Flemming labeled his loser of the week Terrence Wall for the crime of not owing any personal income tax after taking advantage of tax credits, creating jobs paying millions of dollars in other taxes. In a week the left lost in so many ways Flemming thinks someone who created jobs is the biggest loser. You stay classy Jeff.

So why is the left so angry? They have both houses of Congress with large margins in place plus the White House and they can't get anything done.

The left lacks the ability to be introspective and blame their own actions for their losses in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. So it must be, how did Olbermann put it, "those poor, dumb, manipulated bastards", screwing things up. (Speaking of Olbermann, if you missed John Stewart dissecting him, go see...)

That's the ultimate, the dumb card. The left can't tolerate the thought that anyone else may be smarter than they are, they throw out the stupid card with great ease. You see their greatest frustration comes from their inability to push through their agenda because after all they are the enlightened ones. They speak of tolerance and diversity. That is only of skin tone and gender though not of thought. (That's why when the dumb card fails they play the race card)

It was an illuminating example this week when Chris Matthews was the one who had to tell Howard Dean that his analysis was truly off the mark. Dean actually tried to spin the Coakley loss as a victory and a great opportunity.

Huh?

The more the left wing base loses the louder they shout, the more unhinged their rhetoric becomes, the less effective their attempts to attack the other side become.

Obama appealed to the middle, he won because the country was tired of Bush and Obama seemed a reasonable choice. He spoke in flowery terms and offered hope. Now the country is learning that he lacks the capacity to speak to 6th graders without his trusty teleprompter.

He got into office and turned over governance to the far left, that's not what he offered from the campaign trail. People want jobs, he went to Copenhagen. People want jobs, he played golf. People want jobs, he accepted a Nobel Peace prize for promissing to close Gitmo which he now can't do.

Elections are won and lost in the middle, Obama knew that and appealed to it. The far left by their unhinged actions are pushing the middle away and the angrier the left gets the more of the center they lose. The more of the center they lose the louder they yell.

Is it November yet?

UPDATE: Peter throws down.

Brewers to Florida?

I really have no idea how this story could have even started nor how a news station could have the naivete to report it. Had they done a little bit a research, they would have seen the Brewers were one of the top teams in terms of attendance over the last few seasons. Their relatively new stadium and team on the rise, makes the concept of relocation even more ridiculous, a term the Brewers use as well.

Now let's look at the simple logical and historical aspects. Since 1993, it has been proven that Major League Baseball in Florida does not work. Apart from the three World Series seasons, (Florida in 1997 and 2003, Tampa in 2008) the Marlins and Rays are the worst drawing teams in the league. I have been to games at both stadiums, both games just barely cracked the 10,000 mark. Like retirees, baseball teams would go to Florida to die.
