Media Bias at work again.

Here we have the merry band of law haters from Voces de la Frontera protesting in front of Bud Selig's Milwaukee office. Numbering 2 dozen strong these advocates of ignoring American law got tons of national media attention asking to move next years All Star game out of Arizona. Because of course Arizona is racist for wanting to enforce our immigration laws. This fits the media template.

The pictures below here is of an estimated 5 to 10 thousand people who protested on June 16th in New York City. They are against the insult of putting a Mosque at Ground Zero. This massive effort does not fit the media template and was completely ignored by the national media. Not one satellite truck, it must have been too difficult for them to get to in New York City...

Muslims get a pass because if you question them you get killed.

I guess "property rights" only applies to white Christians now?

And if by "at ground zero" you mean three city blocks away, then you're right.

<span>Howso? Fred and conservative bloggers like him believe in property rights uber alles, with the belief that the big bad gummint has no right to tell you what you can and can't do with your property. Now Fred and bloggers like him--Badger Blogger and Freedom Eden too, among others--can't believe that the gummint in NYC in going to let property owners there do what they want.

I'm just trying to pinpoint what it is that makes this property rights case different.

And trying to point out that the mosque is not at ground zero.  Fred et al. can say that til they're blue in the face, but it doesn't actually change the fact that this is blocks away and out of the line of sight of the former WTC site.</span>

Against whom am I being bigoted?  Against which race am I being ist?

I am merely trying to interpolate how Fred feels about property rights--i.e., that Muslims have none but others do--based on his postings here.

Perhaps you should pay attention, did I say anything about property rights?  Have I blogged or commented about the subject of the ground zero mosque at any time at any place?

The subject was why does a small event get national attention and a large event get no attention.

I do worry that someone with your comprehension skills is actually drawing a paycheck from the taxpayers to teach children.

So what's your feeling on the mosque?  Should the property owners be allowed to build as they wish?

And will you correct you post so that you are not claiming the mosque is at Ground Zero?  While you're at it, you should note that it's not just a mosque, but really, a large community center, organized by a coalition of moderate muslims who explicitly reject and condemn violence, designed to provide NYC's growing Muslim population a positve alternative to more radical and conservative sects.

Real Debate said...

No, I got "the subject," Fred.  But 1) "MEDIA BIASSSSSS!!!!!!!!one!!!111!" is hardly worth debating (especially now that Obama has shut down righty talk radio and enforced the fairness doctrine with his Youth Army), and 2) a local zoning dispute seems inherently less interesting than the ramifications of a national controversy upon the national pastime.  (Also: I did a google search similar to yours but about the "mosque" at "ground zero" and got as many hits as yours, so I call BS on the claims of bias.)

And the way you phrased your post--including repeating misinformation commonly promoted by misinformed anti-Muslim opponents of the Cordoba Initiative's plan--made it clear where you stood on "the subject" of the community center itself, so that's what I challenged you on, especially given your stated ideologies and track record of opposing gummint interference into the actions of property owners in the past--like the smoking ban.

Jay, go hate America on your own blog.  Your constant lies insult even your minimum intelligence.

Oh, when are you going to apologize for lying about Capper????  The bum is toast.

Real Debate said...

<span>PCD, how have I lied in the comments here?  Please, cite one untruth and, if you could, a source for you belief that I am speaking falsely.  Indeed, the only untrue thing I've seen about this post is Fred's contention that someone wants to "<span>put[] a Mosque at Ground Zero."</span></span>

<span>Additionally, which of my comments here "hate on America"?</span>

Real Debate said...

And here I thought the issue was media bias but since Jay can't win the arguement, he changes the subject.  Classy.
But in Jay's world, where sits on his porch petting unicorns and singing Kumbaya, there is no media bias in the world because the world is sooo good since Obama has been president.

Real Debate said...

I care not to debate you Jay.  You never wish to bring an honest argument.

There have been stories about the mosque in question, that was not my point.  My point was about the protest pictured, which was ignored.

You found something else not related and you brush it off.

Real Debate said...

Well, Dan, what's your position on the mosque?  Do agree with Fred that it's an "insult" for a group of moderate, violence-eschewing Muslims to build a community center on land that they own three blocks away from Ground Zero?

Real Debate said...

Folkidiot, where did I say that?

Real Debate said...

Ol'folkie does what the Left always does.  Change the debate, make s4it up.  Whatever.  It's all crap.

Real Debate said...

Um, in your post, Fred: "<span>They are against the insult of putting a Mosque at Ground Zero."  I have a screen shot, if you'd like.</span>

Real Debate said...

Crumbum, I would only agree to such a Mosque anywhere Ground Zero if you, Crapper, LIEbenthal, and the rest of you America Haters were buried alive under the foundation, just like many of the 3,000 were buried alive in the Twin Towers.

You are beneath contempt.  There isn't anything that could be done to you that you don't deserve, except promotion or other enrichment.

Real Debate said...

Putting a Wahabist Mosque at Ground Zero is like putting up a shrine to Hitler in Buchenwald.

Real Debate said...

You can justify anything if you put your mind to it.  Why the hell isn't 10K people protesting news to our partisan media?

Oh, and Jay,  Why have any zoning laws?  If your neighbor wants to put up a manure dump next door to you, so what if he owns the property?  Or is Islam sacred now that their radicals have killed thousands of Americans in an American city?

Real Debate said...

The community center is neither "Wahabist" nor "at ground zero." Do you care about facts at all, or do you just default to name-calling because you know the facts are never on your side?

Real Debate said...

Terry, your comment makes no sense. The Islamic community center proposed for the site--again, three city blocks away from Ground Zero--is not in violation of any zoning laws and, in fact, faced little opposition from neighbors at initial planning hearings.

But of course once Drudge and Limbaugh and crowd got a hold of it, suddenly it stopped being a community center to serve the needs of a large and growing population of moderate Lower-Manhattan Muslims and started being "a Wahibist mosque at Ground Zero." I would bet paper money that the vast bulk of the protestors in Fred's pictures here are not even from NYC.

More lies from Folkie.  Atta boy.  Just bring up Drudge and Limbaugh and all their racist-hater lock-step, not-as-smart-as-folkie, robotic followers.  Don't bother with the evidence that it first came up in NYT late last year.  Or the UK Telegraph (a notoriously Right Wing rag, right?).  Keep up the lies...as The Chosen One has again proven, they soon become the truth.

Real Debate said...

Lying Crumbum.  You never use the straight facts.  You just Monica distrorted lies from the DNC, Think Progress, Daily Kos, Huffington Lying Post, and anyother Liberal only site.

Your suppositions are not facts Crumbum.  You should be fired from MPS.
