A true artist

I had the pleasure to drop in for a few minutes today to visit my friends Anne & Will at the Sign Shop of Racine. They were having an open house and highlighted Will's custom pain work. Will is truly an artist with an air brush, he is simply one of the best in the nation. Enjoy some of his work.

I never thought I would see the day that the French President made more sense than the US President.

You may have missed the comments of President Sarkozy's remarks this week as US media ignored them.

From the Big Government blog.

Sarkozy: “We live in the real world, not the virtual world. And the real world expects us to take decisions.”

The rest of Sarkozy’s remarks were, well, remarkable:

“President Obama dreams of a world without weapons … but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite.

“Iran since 2005 has flouted five security council resolutions. North Korea has been defying council resolutions since 1993.

“I support the extended hand of the Americans, but what good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe a UN member state off the map,” he continued, referring to Israel.

The sharp-tongued French leader even implied that Mr Obama’s resolution 1887 had used up valuable diplomatic energy.

“If we have courage to impose sanctions together it will lend viability to our commitment to reduce our own weapons and to making a world without nuke weapons,” he said.

Mr Sarkozy has previously called the US president’s disarmament crusade “naive.”

Rush Limbaugh Runs Over Al Gore

HELTER SKELTER...One Down....

Before the media starts layering on the pitiful photos of a cancer-stricken Manson Girl Susan Atkins--lamenting and mourning over how she had to die incarcerated--let's have a refresher on her testimony over 30 years ago regarding the brutal murder of Sharon Tate, et. al:

"I was stoned, man, stoned on acid," Atkins testified during the trial's penalty phase.
"I don't know how many times I stabbed (Tate) and I don't know why I stabbed her," she said. "She kept begging and pleading and begging and pleading and I got sick of listening to it, so I stabbed her." She said she felt "no guilt for what I've done. It was right then and I still believe it was right." Asked how it could be right to kill, she replied in a dreamy voice, "How can it not be right when it's done with love?"

Susan Atkins died of brain cancer, while still incarcerated. Frankly, she was fortunate to have lived these last 40 years, since CA changed their death penalty statutes in the '70's and converted her sentence to life in prison vs. death.

Interesting how she couldn't understand why people didn't forgive or forget her crimes. Guess it'd be pretty hard to forgive someone who brutally murdered an unborn 8 1/2 month old baby if it was someone in my family.....

So I say it's refreshing to see a "life sentence" actually mean something for a change. So long, Susan. Helter Skelter.

P.S. Interesting how the headline isn't something more appropriate, like "Convicted Murderer Susan Atkins," but instead is far more benign.....(sigh.........)

Outrageous

Gore-Backed Car Firm Gets Large U.S. Loan

By JOSH MITCHELL and STEPHEN POWER
WASHINGTON -- A tiny car company backed by former Vice President Al Gore has just gotten a $529 million U.S. government loan to help build a hybrid sports car in Finland that will sell for about $89,000.

The award this week to California startup Fisker Automotive Inc. follows a $465 million government loan to Tesla Motors Inc., purveyors of a $109,000 British-built electric Roadster. Tesla, like Fisker, is a California startup focusing on high-end hybrids, with a number of celebrity endorsements that is backed by investors that have contributed to Democratic campaigns.

The awards to Fisker and Tesla have prompted concern from companies that have had their bids for loans rejected, and criticism from groups that question why vehicles aimed at the wealthiest customers are getting loans subsidized by taxpayers.

"This is not for average Americans," said Leslie Paige, a spokeswoman for Citizens Against Government Waste, an anti-tax group in Washington. "This is for people to put something in their driveway that is a conversation piece. It's status symbol thing."

DOE officials spent months working with Fisker on its application, touring its Irvine, Calif., and Pontiac, Mich., facilities and test-driving prototypes.

Matt Rogers, who oversees the department's loan programs as a senior adviser to Energy Secretary Steven Chu, said Fisker was awarded the loan after a "detailed technical review" that concluded the company could eventually deliver a highly fuel-efficient hybrid car to a mass audience. Fisker said most of its DOE loan will be used to finance U.S. production of a $40,000 family sedan that has yet to be designed.

"It's the ability to drive significant change in fuel economy across a large market segment" that swayed the department to approve the Fisker loan, Mr. Rogers said. "We got quite excited."

A huge loan to a multi millionaire to build a sports car and maybe one day a car that the rest of us can afford.

Outrageous.

It really helps to have friends, then Gore can use our money instead of his own. I wonder if he'll get another loan to buy carbon credits from himself?

Irony.

On the same week the Assembly voted unanimously to toughen drunk driving laws, one of their own gets busted driving under the influence for the FOURTH TIME!

It is time for Jeff Wood to resign.

RPW Executive Director Mark Jefferson issued the following release (I agree with him 100%)

“Sadly, Rep. Jeff Wood continues to endanger the health and safety of himself and others. I share the concerns that many have for him personally and hope he gets treatment, but enough is enough.

It has become clear that Representative Wood is having far too much difficulty managing his own personal problems to cope with the problems of a state in economic crisis, and now there is only one reasonable course of action. It's time for Representative Wood to do right by himself and his constituents by resigning his Assembly seat so the people of the Chippewa Valley can receive the representation they deserve. ”

Who Needs Border Control Agents?

But, after a brief pause we'd realize that this makes perfect sense. President Obama would have to cut these agents in order to pay for the health care we'll be providing to the illegal alien interlopers once we make them legal! Won't pay for all of it, to be sure. But, hey it's a start!

Now why didn't I think of that?

Answer: Doesn't matter. The platform of the democrat party is in flames right now, and will continue to be burning in '10.

Democrats nix putting pre-vote health bill online

(AP) – 4 hours ago

WASHINGTON — Senate Finance Committee Democrats have rejected a GOP amendment that would have required a health overhaul bill to be available online for 72 hours before the committee votes.

Republicans argued that transparency is an Obama administration goal. They also noted that their constituents are demanding that they read bills before voting.

Democrats said it was a delay tactic that could have postponed a vote for weeks.

The Democrats noted that unlike other committees, the Finance Committee works off conceptual language that describes policies — instead of legislative language that ultimately becomes law, and which the GOP amendment would have required

Man Teaching Gun Safety Shoots Himself

Updated: Tuesday, 22 Sep 2009, 3:30 PM CDTPublished : Tuesday, 22 Sep 2009, 3:29 PM CDT

By LILY FU

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - A Missouri man who was teaching his girlfriend about firearm safety on Friday pointed a gun at his head to prove a point and accidentally shot himself dead.

The Jefferson County Sheriff said that James Looney, 40, of Imperial, Mo., was teaching his girlfriend about the different safety mechanisms on guns by putting guns to his head and asking her if they would go off. The first two guns did not go off, but the third gun actually fired.

Looney was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead the next morning.
According to witnesses, Looney was going to take his girlfriend to the shooting range the next day, but insisted on firearm safety the day prior.

Both Reince, both.

Chairman Priebus asks, is Mike Tate out of touch or out of his mind?

Both I'd say.

This is a press release from the Republican Party of Wisconsin regarding the behavior of Wisconsin DNC Chair Mike Tate.

Out of Touch or Out of His Mind?

Priebus: Doyle, Lawton Should Denounce Democrat’s Offensive Rant

MADISON – Following a Milwaukee Taxpayers’ Tea Party on Saturday which attracted over 10,000 Wisconsin residents, the leader of Wisconsin Democrats claimed outright that attendees did not believe in our country. According to Republican Party of Wisconsin Chairman Reince Priebus, the Democrats’ leader Mike Tate is now making outrageous insinuations designed to mislead the public about the message many well-intentioned individuals are sending their government.

“Today the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin compared those who voice opposition to the Democrats' agenda to the KKK. The leader of Wisconsin Democrats owes the entire state an apology, and I’ve asked our Governor and Lieutenant Governor to join me in denouncing his statements," Priebus said.

As reported in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Tate said on Saturday: "These are extremist elements pulling together, distinct vocal minorities that frankly don't believe in this country. They don't want to see more people have access to quality affordable health care; they don't want clean air and water. They fundamentally don't understand how the American government, economy and capitalism work."

Today, Tate told supporters in an attached email that he would stand by this statement, and went on to label the protesters as, among other things, racists, comparing them to the KKK and McCarthyites.

“Tate’s remarks are an embarrassment to his party and this state,” Priebus said. “It’s time for the Democrats to start working on a better health care plan instead of insulting hardworking Wisconsin taxpayers who have taken the time to voice their concerns to their elected officials.”

When I first read this headline, I thought it was something from "The Onion." Well, it isn't. With all of the economic issues going on around us in this state, our democrat run legislature wants to spend time and resources to pass a law where they can Name Their Successor.

Sure, it sounds like a new game show title....would be far more entertaining were it a reality show. They also wanted to keep the list of their Chosen Ones secret.

So, the party who wants Card Check--out in the open votes on union representation--wants to keep their Chosen Ones secret? Don't the people have a right to know who their next Chosen Representative would be?

Gee, what a shock.

Car showrooms quiet after clunkers clamor ends

Dealers add other incentives in bid to entice buyers

It has been nearly a month since the car-buying frenzy of the Cash for Clunkers program ended, and many area auto dealers are longing for the good old days of July and August.

Like consumers nationwide, Massachusetts residents rushed to take advantage of the federal voucher program, which offered them up to $4,500 on old gas-guzzlers to be put toward the purchase of new, more fuel-efficient vehicles. About $65 million worth of vouchers were handed out statewide during the monthlong program that ended Aug. 24.

But once the federal money dried up, so did the sales rally. Now, customers at dealerships like Silko Honda in Raynham are few and far between, and inventory is once again accumulating.
