The Great Zambini---err, Zamba!

Now this was worth interrupting a beautiful day outdoors. Although it doesn't take much to distract me from yard work...So I have to shake my head again and wonder if this is the best the dems have for candidates?! Here ladies and gentlemen, is a democrat candidate for Samantha Kerkman's assembly seat in the rural Kenosha county district that includes Wheatland, Salem, Paddock Lake, etc...I think it's safe to say that rural roads in Kenosha county won't be too condusive to Segwaying. He'd fit in much better in Dane County.

Is this guy a candidate or a circus act? Well, Samantha, as I said to Robin Vos, you just got yourself another easy breezy re-election! (I think you'll "roll on to victory!"--sorry, couldn't resist!)

Weekly Bad Teacher Recap

This weeks hall of shame from the reports at Bad Bad Teacher.

This weekly series is an attempt to shine a light on a problem that is bigger than anyone wants to realize, people who we have entrusted with the care of our children preying upon them.

I'll provide my usual disclaimer, the vast majority of teachers are good people who are likely more enraged by the actions of their peers than you are. This post is not an attack on teachers in general.

When will the media stand up and start paying this problem the attention it deserves? When we get outraged.

Last weeks MRQ of the week winner was, me.

I suddenly feel the need to grab my Bible and go buy a gun.

Southeastern Legislators Petition EPA to Lift RFG Mandate this Summer

Madison…As gas prices reach an all-time high, already exceeding $4 a gallon in southeast Wisconsin , twenty seven members of the Legislature signed a letter yesterday to garner support for a proposal that would urge the EPA to lift the Reformulated Gas Mandate this summer as part of an effort to curb rising gas prices.

“It’s not even Memorial Day and gas has already reached $4 a gallon in southeast Wisconsin ,” said Vos. “The EPA has the power to ease the pain on consumers by temporarily lifting the RRG mandate this summer.”

Currently, Kenosha , Milwaukee , Racine , Washington , Ozaukee, and Waukesha Counties are required by the Federal Clean Air Act to sell reformulated gas. The mandate, which has been in place since the mid 90s, can cause gas in southeastern Wisconsin to be as much as 20 cents higher than in Madison (where a mandate does not exist) on any given day.

“A prosperous summer tourism season could be just what Wisconsin needs to pull us out of our current economic situation,” noted Vos. “But gas prices that are skyrocketing toward $5 a gallon will stop summer travelers dead in their tracks.”

Vos cited previous efforts of the Legislature to curb gas prices in Wisconsin , which include: supporting a cut in the gas tax, authoring legislation to institute a gas tax holiday, voting to eliminate the automatic indexing of the gas tax, and actively opposing raids on gas tax revenue for uses other than transportation.

“While these state efforts to control the cost of gas are positive steps in the right direction,” said Vos. “It’s now time for the federal government to step up to the plate and find solutions to this problem. Removing mandates that significantly increase the cost of fuel is one of many ways to relieve consumers from being so pinched at the pump this summer.”

The Chosen One speaks...

…like a newborn babe in the woods.
Blasphemy, I know, but just my opinion.
But now that it seems the swooning at the rallies is waning, maybe we should all focus a bit on his actual words rather than the aura of the man.

This has been the longest thing i've written since college...maybe a tad bit dry, but as Popeye says..."It's all I can stands..."

I'd like to hear from anyone who stands by Obama's thought process.

Today we’ll begin by touching on his energy policy.

The other Big “O” states on his website
I believe it's ("climate change" - the hip, new gorebal warming) one of the greatest moral challenges of our generation.
- That’s good, tough talking dontcha think?
So………what do you think he would say to the immorality of a willingness to not drill for oil in the US when oil is at OVER $125/bbl. yet food and energy costs continue to skyrocket?
Coming soon, the next great moral evil: Big Corn.
He goes on to say:
I stood in front of…automakers, and I told them that when I am president, there will be no more excuses — we will help them retool their factories…
- “we will help them”...WTF?! Tough talk, tho. Change or we will give you money, dammit!
TRANSLATION: Taxpayers, you are all soooo going to pay for this.

Obama supports implementation of a market-based cap-and-trade system
- TRANSLATION: Uh…yeah. Apparently, he doesn’t really get the whole kookie “free market” ponzi scheme. It doesn’t matter - taxpayers, you are all soooo going to pay for this.

Obama will develop domestic incentives that reward forest owners, farmers, and ranchers when they plant trees, restore grasslands, or undertake farming practices that capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
- TRANSLATION: I’m just going to talk to make myself sound good. I know giving incentives (subsidies) to plant trees and grass flies in the face of planting corn, which I told the Iowans I back, but I gotta appease everyone…I am the Chosen One, after all.
Yeah, either way, taxpayers, you are all soooo going to pay for this.

Obama will invest $150 billion over 10 years…
- Oh, yeah? Personally?!? Apparently The Big O is filthy, stinking rich. Or it’s all Oprah’s money. Good Lord knows we all have enough disposable income.

Obama will double science and research” – Hah!

Obama will create a Clean Technologies Venture Capital Fund to fill a critical gap in U.S. technology development. Obama will invest $10 billion per year into this fund for five years.
-Wait, wait….so this will be ON TOP of the $150 Bil?? No? Oh, good, I thought we would have to pay….even more. In the end, tho…of COURSE you’ll pay.

OK, OK…..I know I’ve bored most of you to tears already. Those that know me, know that I could go on talking until the cows come home (unless the Chosen One says they wont ‘cause of extinction), so if you’ll permit me one last point…my favorite.

Obama's plan will reduce oil consumption by at least 35 percent, or 10 million barrels per day, by 2030. This will more than offset the equivalent of the oil we would import from OPEC nations in 2030.
Quick....without looking it up, someone tell me the top 3 countries we import the most oil from.

If you said Canada, Saudi Arabia and Mexico, take your shiny sticker and move to the front of the class. (Notice how I used a Chosen One’s tactic there making you think I was talking to you? Not as good as those horoscope examples, but you get the idea. Ok, I’m digressing. Back on point…)

BTW, last I checked Canada was not a member of OPEC.
For that matter, why isn’t the USA a member of OPEC?
Even with all the limits we put on oil exploration (yeah and by “we” I really mean “they”…I’ll admit it) we still produce a boatload...
So who WOULD he limit?
Nigeria (M)?
Venezuela (M)?
Or just the Saudis?
You KNOW that when most Americans think "OPEC" they think Saudi Arabia and the mid-East.

Your new politics are refreshing, Barack.
And others are race-baiting, eh?

Hey, Barack, wanna actually reduce dependency on foreign oil?
LET'S ACTUALLY USE WHAT WE HAVE HERE FIRST not tell people you are going to tax them into oblivion while not letting them get any product!
At $125/bbl., how much friggin’ revenue JUST IN TAXES would that generate to help people all the while looking for other energy sources.
Want more?
Just about 10 years ago, the process Canada uses to gather the oil – from the sand/dirt – was not considered feaseable…but OIL IS AT OVER $125/BBL.!!
In case you missed that part.

Even Dubai for cripes sake - knowing that their oil is running out - is choosing to drill and sell ASAP so they can use the money for the future. incredibly forward thinking, intelligent decision made by a little spec of a country.
I get that it's a smaller country, Barack, but what the hell are you "changing" by plugging the same tired policies that have been keeping this process from advancing?

I am not the brightest bulb on the tree, but to put this in the rawest sense: it seems to me that if you tax something just to cut production, aren’t you basically killing a revenue stream?

Amazing how we tax Big Oil – which is actually a large part of this economy, like it or not – but give subsidies to Big Corn – which is helping to kill it.

Leader of the free world indeed.
Any economic know-how must be post-post-post graduate.

Up next on "the Chosen One Speaks", a topic very near to me: Healthcare.

Rush Limbaugh Transcript.

Long, but worthy, please read to the end, it is worth it!!!!!!!!!!

RUSH: Here is Ken in Brooklyn. Ken, welcome to the EIB Network, sir. You're next.

CALLER: Nice to be on your show, Rush, thanks.

RUSH: Thank you.

CALLER: You know, for once I agree with something you said.

RUSH: What's that?

CALLER: I'm a typical, you know, quote, unquote, liberal. That we should open up more refineries and produce more, not drill more, not go into ANWR, not do a lot of things, but produce more, yeah.

RUSH: Well, how going to produce more? How are we gonna refine more if we don't have more to refine?

CALLER: Well, it goes back to the merger I think a year ago with the two biggest oil companies merging, made the biggest corporate merger in history. We have to realize that the man behind the curtain in our government is Big Oil. They own presidents; they rig elections; they are in complete control; they are aligned with the military. In fact, every time a war breaks out, gas spikes 50 cents a gallon.

RUSH: Hm-hm.

CALLER: And we have to deregulate. I mean, we have to unmonopolize the oil business. We have to not be under their thumb and not, you know, be the people ignoring the shoes and the cuffs behind the curtains, we have to stand up to Big Oil.

RUSH: Hm-hm.

CALLER: Now, that doesn't mean not producing more petroleum refineries.

RUSH: Uh-huh.

CALLER: But I think we're being strong armed by Big Oil with high gas prices --

RUSH: Hm-hm.

CALLER: -- to make us say uncle for ANWR.

RUSH: Hm-hm. What do you mean, uncle for ANWR? What do you mean?

CALLER: I think they're raising the prices to make us cry "ouch."

RUSH: So that they can grab more oil to monopolize us with?

CALLER: So that they'll ply us away from resisting ANWR.

RUSH: I see, the lights are going off now. So this is all a ruse to get us to drill for more oil so we'll have even more monopolistic control over us?

CALLER: Pretty much, yeah.

RUSH: Okay. So you think Big Oil is pretty much unregulated, they get to do whatever they want to do, whenever they want to do it?

CALLER: Well, did anyone see a trial for John Lennon's murder? They own the media.

RUSH: I see your point.

CALLER: And, by the way, did you know Bill Clinton met with Stephen King in the mid-nineties in the White House?

RUSH: Stephen King or Stevie Wonder?

CALLER: Author Stephen King --

RUSH: Stephen King.

CALLER: -- and Bill Clinton met.

RUSH: That's right, I forgot, damn it, you're right.

CALLER: And Nixon and Reagan used him to kill John Lennon.

RUSH: Well, you can't leave Stephen King out of this.

CALLER: No, he's the evil ogre that haunts us in the middle of our dreams.

RUSH: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Nixon and Reagan used Stephen King to wipe out Lennon --

CALLER: (plug)

RUSH: -- and Monday Night Football so that Cosell would be able to announce the assassination.

CALLER: Like the Roman arena. And we never did see a trial.

RUSH: No, but I mean the lunatic that shot Lennon got sent up.

CALLER: A year-and-a-half after the murder he pled guilty behind closed doors. There was no trial.

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: Yoko didn't complain. She used Nixon as the ace-in-the-hole.

RUSH: And Big Oil was behind this?

CALLER: Well, Big Oil wants that oil, and they knew John Lennon was the one thing that would have stood up to this war and united the public against it.

RUSH: John Lennon would stand up to which war?

CALLER: This war we're in right now. They had to plan 20 years ahead --

RUSH: You mean Big Oil working with Nixon and Reagan and Stephen King wiped out John Lennon back in, what was it, the seventies?

CALLER: 1980, December --

RUSH: 1980.

CALLER: On Jim Morrison's birthday, 1980.

RUSH: That's right. No coincidence there, either, is there?

RUSH: So you have 24 years ago Nixon and Reagan conspiring with Stephen King to convince some idiot to go out and waste Lennon because they --

CALLER: No, no, no, no, no. Stephen King --

RUSH: Well, because they knew 24 years later we'd be in Iraq, and only John Lennon could stop it?

CALLER: That's right.

RUSH: Okay!

RUSH: Okay, that last caller, what was that last caller's name? Ken from Brooklyn. He was right about two things. He was right when he said that we haven't built a refinery in too many years, and he was really right when he said he was a typical liberal. I, ladies and gentlemen, had planned on offering -- because he was talking about oil and pollution -- I was going to give him a Rush PAC. I was going to give him a Rush PAC from Allen Brothers, great steaks and hamburgers and hotdogs, I was going to give him one of those just to be nice, but I gave up the plan halfway through the call because I figured all the guy would do is take it out and lay it at the grave of John Lennon and who knows what would happen to it then, so I decided against it.
