Peter DiGaudio, The Texas Hold 'Em Blogger, is hosting an event this Sunday in Kenosha to benefit the American Legion baseball team.

A silent auction will be held along with a mostaciolli dinner at the VFW hall at 6618 39th Ave. Dinner is $5.

For you sports collectors out there you should seriously consider stopping by as a number of desirable items will be auctioned off. There are multiple items signed by Brett Favre (didn't he used to play for some football team somewhere?), Cory Hart, Jim Gantner, Paul Molitor, Ben Sheets, Prince Fielder and many more of your favorites.

All proceeds go to support the American Legion summer baseball program that benefits area youth.

We hope to see you there.

Arby's, Wendy's, Wendy's, Arby's

COLUMBUS, Ohio - After at least two rejections, billionaire Nelson Peltz has finally succeeded in landing Wendy's in a $2.3 billion deal that would add the chain known for its square burger and chocolate Frosty dessert to his ownership of Arby's and its roast beef sandwiches.

Now, the investor known for agitating corporations to boost their stock price has to figure out how to make both profitable while the economy slumps and more Americans are saving money on food and fuel by staying home to eat.

Atlanta-based Triarc Companies Inc., owned by Peltz, said Thursday it will pay about $2.34 billion in an all-stock deal for the nation's third-largest hamburger chain started in 1969 by Dave Thomas. Wendy's had rejected at least two buyout offers from Triarc.

Thomas' daughter Pam Thomas Farber said the family was devastated by the news.

"It's a very sad day for Wendy's, and our family. We just didn't think this would be the outcome," said Farber, 53.

Seems like everyone is buying everyone.

So, what's your plan for your "stimulus" check?

Hang on folks...

It sounds like it is going to be a bumpy night.

Obama is going on Fox News Sunday...

Not surprisingly the left is not amused...

Go read it for yourself.

This one is my favorite, "from where I stand, if Obama moved toward the "center," he'd be moving left, not right. He's already PLENTY right-of-center." Konopelli.

There is no excuse for this.

POLICE: BUSH BASHER SMASHES DISABLED TEEN

A man heckling First Lady Laura Bush and daughter Jenna outside the 92nd Street Y was arrested after he punched a wheelchair-bound girl whose parents has told him to shut up, authorities said yesterday. German Talis, 22, was shouting obscenities at the Bushes, who were leaving the building Tuesday, when he crossed paths with Wendy and John Lovetro and their daughter Maureen, 18, who has cerebral palsy.

“He began yelling about Iraq and Iran at Jenna Bush. She was waving at the crowd. I told the guy, ‘What are you doing? Shut up. This is about a child and books,’ ” said John Lovetro. “He was unperturbed. I said, ‘Get out of here! You’re being a moron!’ “

The next thing he knew, Talis was allegedly punching Maureen - a fan of the first lady since meeting her in 2004.

“I heard my daughter hysterical yelling, ‘He’s hitting me!’ ” said Wendy Lovetro.

“He punched her on the shoulder blades, but that wasn’t enough,” she said.

“He punched her on the shoulder blades, but that wasn’t enough,” she said.

“My husband pushed the wheelchair away from him and he reached beyond my husband and began pounding my daughter in the thigh.”

The two men fought as the president’s family drove off. Cops broke them up and busted Talis on charges of assault and resisting arrest.

Maureen was not seriously injured.

WASHINGTON - The upper Midwest has the worst drunken driving rates in the country, according to a government report that says 15 percent of adult drivers nationally report driving under the influence of alcohol in the previous year.

Wisconsin leads the way. The federal government estimates more than a quarter of the state's adult drivers had driven under the influence. Rounding out the worst five are North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Congratulations.

I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate Congressman Paul Ryan for being re-elected to Congress from Wisconsin's 1st District.

His competition... Case closed.

I spent a few minutes talking with Congressman Ryan at The Kenosha County GOP Lincoln Day dinner Saturday evening. He always impresses.

Expelled, a review.

Mrs. Rdw and I took in the Ben Stein documentary Expelled this afternoon.

I will not enter into a debate here on the Darwinism vs Intelligent Design issue, frankly it would do nothing but inflame tempers and I doubt anyone would change their position on one side or another.

I walked into the theater with a pre-conceived notion as to what would be presented, a stunning display of scientific intolerance.

Truth be told that was delivered as well as several things I was not prepared for.

I will not delve into specifics as I do not wish to spoil it for those who would like to see Expelled for themselves. I'll say this much, the final 4 or 5 minutes were more than worth the price of admission.

Ben Stein took a devils advocate position throughout the various interviews he conducted. He seriously questioned people on BOTH sides of the issue giving them a fair opportunity to present their opinions. It was truly an investigative approach versus the advocacy approach so many recent documentaries have adapted. There were quirky old black and white clips to add a bit of whimsy to the subject at hand.

I've seen plenty of examples by the left over the weekend trying to trash this film. (Including here) I'd challenge them to go and see this film and give it a fair judgement on it's merits. Exactly what the left challenged the right to do with Al Gore's global warming film. I can tell you this much about Expelled, it was 10 times fairer than An Inconvenient Truth in presenting all sides of the issue.

In short, Expelled was informative, entertaining, sometimes disturbing, but above all engaging. If I had some kind of established rating system I would give it my highest recommendation.

Guess the number game

0%

UPDATE: An ABC News / Washington Post poll asked what was the most important issue in the upcoming election. 0% identified environment and global warming.

Hey, Danica finally won a race.

Congratulations.
