Lange Signs Still Not Compliant.

Monday we showed you the non-compliant campaign signs of Racine County Supervisor Diane Lange.

Some signs along Main Street had stickers show up on them Tuesday so I am sure the campaign is aware of the issue.

I've been checking 10 signs in my neighborhood daily to see if they were updated. To date they have not been.

There has been plenty of time from Monday until now for this issue to have been fixed.

As to what is says about the campaign and the candidate that in four full days they could not get campaign signs into compliance I'll let the voters decide. To me it says she does not care about running a legal campaign.

Fill in the blank.

Preach it Gery...

Geraldine Ferraro: "“To equate what I said with what this racist bigot has said from the pulpit is unbelievable. He gave a very good speech on race relations, but he did not address the fact that this man is up there spewing hatred.”

When she's right she's right.

Burke math.

Check the story underneath this one and the ridiculous logic of Michael Burke and John Lehman highlighting the ridiculous plan to bring back the money sucking KRM as part of a budget shortfall.

Michael tells us about our $527 budget shortfall...

Five hundred and twenty seven bucks.

It proves once again that Democrats will use any excuse to raise taxes. Or, that the Journal Times reporters suck at math.

March 20, 2008

Someone please help me understand this.

This piece of idiocy from Michael Burke of the Racine Journal Times:

RACINE COUNTY — The state’s $527 budget problem could be an opportunity for commuter rail supporters. They got a boost Thursday from the state Senate Finance Committee which put together a budget repair plan. That plan, which the full Senate should adopt Tuesday, would authorize construction of the proposed Kenosha-Racine-Milwaukee rail line, or KRM.A $13 fee on car rentals in Racine, Kenosha and Milwaukee counties would fund the $100 million local portion for a 33-mile extension of Chicago’s Metra commuter rail line to Milwaukee.“Now it’s on the table for discussion, and we hope we’ll prevail,” state Sen. John Lehman, D-Racine, said Thursday. “We’ve got tremendous support for this thing (KRM).”
Primarily because of the weak economy, the state faced what was originally a $652 million projected shortfall in the current two-year budget. Gov. Jim Doyle and the Legislature must close the gap by June or face major cash-flow woes.Doyle pared the problem to $527 million. The Assembly has also issued a repair plan. The Senate is the first of the three major entities to address KRM in its budget repair plan, and Lehman said it’s logical to do that.

In what bizzaro world do people think it is a good idea to put the KRM boondoggle into a bill dealing with a budget shortage? If there is a bigger waste of money than this project, I do not know what it is. The taxing mechanism is insufficient and does not account for inflation. In addition, the revenue and ridership projections are a joke, the project ignores the airport and actually duplicates coach service we already have to no one uses.

Michael Burke is nothing but a cheerleader for this project and has not written an objective word on the subject in years. He really should turn in his reporter card.

Is it just me?

Leftie bloggers all over the area are claiming an add by Judge Gableman is racist where race is never brought up. That ad is not racist.

Meanwhile their own major Presidential candidate is excusing actual racist behavior by his long-time spiritual mentor and Pastor.

Excuse it on one side where it actually exists, make it up on the other side where it does not exist.

This is your tolerant, fair and inclusive democratic party.

Tom McMahon needs to do a Four Block World on this one.

Wisconsin shaped pothole.

Mariah Peterson of Green Bay has discovered a pothole shaped like the state of Wisconsin.

I suppose it was only a matter of time.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama's big national lead over Hillary Clinton has all but evaporated in the U.S. presidential race, and both Democrats trail Republican John McCain, according a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

Who is the wiseguy who signed me up for the Friends of Barack (Censored) Obama emails?

Nitro Circus Thrillbillies Castaic, CA

These guys are nuts...

In a good way, but nuts none the less.

3 words

I caught the first 15 minutes of Barack (Censored) Obama's race speech this morning. I had to go into an appointment so I had to turn it off.

He said three words (in succession) that made my jaw drop.

Would anyone like to guess?

I voted for it before I voted against it.

The dishonesty of Eugene Kane.

Eugene Kane is up to his usual schtick of defending the indefensible again.

His latest target the racist Pastor of Barack (censored) Obama, Jeremiah Wright.

His whole piece is a sham but I want to highlight one line.

Jeremiah Wright is a "fire and brimstone" black preacher from Chicago, with a congregation filled with educated black professionals. Even Oprah Winfrey once attended Wright's church.

By throwing in that Oprah line in that context you might think that Oprah Winfrey approved of Wright's church. Not so, Oprah left the church as Wright's rhetoric was way over the line.

This is the nature of Eugene Kane and his lies and distortions to excuse the particular brand of racism that is practiced by some in the African American Community.

I've said it a hundred times, make it a hundred and one, if we are ever to move beyond racism we must stop making excuses for it in EVERY segment of society.

How the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel continues to pay Eugene Kane is beyond my comprehension.

I understand Barack (Censored) Obama is going to have his "I smoked it but I did not inhale" speech today.

Sorry Barack you become more like Bill Clinton every day.

Where's your stimulus check.

The Kansas City Star

The Internal Revenue Service outlined Monday how your Social Security number will determine when you probably will get your economic stimulus check this spring or summer.

The IRS said it plans to deliver 130 million checks between May 2 and July 11 based on the last two digits of the recipient’s Social Security number.

According to the IRS, direct deposit payments will be made May 2 to recipients whose Social Security numbers end in 00-20.

Direct deposit payments will be made a week later, May 9, to people whose numbers end in 21-75. The final round of direct deposit payments will be made May 16 to people whose numbers end in 76-99.

Those who will receive paper checks are on a longer schedule.

Checks will be mailed May 16 to those whose numbers end in 00-09. A second round of checks will be mailed May 23 to those whose numbers end in 10-18. A May 30 mailing will be made to people whose numbers end in 19-25.

Subsequent mailings will be made June 6 to those whose numbers end in 26-38, June 13 to numbers 39-51, June 20 to numbers 52-63, June 27 to numbers 64-75, July 4 to numbers 76-87, and July 11 to those whose numbers end in 88-99.

The payments of $300 each to certain low-income recipients and $600 or $1,200 to single or married taxpayers, plus additional money for families with qualifying children, will be calculated from tax returns filed by April 15. Filers also can indicate on those returns whether they want money directly deposited in a bank account or mailed to them.

Late filers and anyone who owes back taxes or other debt that normally would interfere with getting a tax refund also may get either a later stimulus payment or a smaller one, the IRS said.

Civil Rights Leader Roy Innis in Madison on Wednesday.

This from AFP:

MADISON – Just hours before the Governor’s Task Force on Global Warming is set to meet, respected civil rights leader Roy Innis, Chairman of the Congress of Racial Equality, will speak on the harm global warming policies pose for minorities at an Americans for Prosperity (AFP) news conference. In addition to the 11:15 a.m. news conference in the State Capitol’s Assembly Parlor Room, Mr. Innis will deliver testimony at the 4:00 p.m. meeting of the Governor’s Task Force on Global Warming, with a specific emphasis on highlighting the dangerous trend toward eco-imperialism in global warming policy-making.

“We’re excited to bring Mr. Innis to Wisconsin to highlight the dark side of ‘feel-good’ global warming policies,” said AFP Wisconsin Director Mark Block. “Mr. Innis will highlight the dangerous trend toward eco-imperialism that runs rampant in global warming policy-making. The huge economic costs of climate change schemes will harm the most vulnerable among us, including minorities worldwide.”

Roy Innis is National Chairman of the Congress of Racial Equality, one of America’s oldest and most respected civil rights groups. He is a life-long advocate of economic development rights for poor families and communities around the world. Roy Innis has also become an icon of economic civil rights: the power and legitimacy of self-reliance and independence.

“We are slowly destroying the energy system we have, and we are promoting an expensive, environmentally harmful, illusory energy system that exists only in theory and environmental rhetoric,” said Innis. “Worst of all, we are harming our poorest families; we are rolling back the civil rights we struggled so long and hard to achieve; and we are sending many minorities to the back of the energy and economic bus. This must not, and cannot continue.”

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is the nation’s premier grassroots organization committed to advancing every individual’s right to economic freedom and opportunity. AFP believes reducing the size and scope of government is the best safeguard to ensuring individual productivity and prosperity for all Americans. AFP educates and engages citizens in support of restraining state and federal government growth, and returning government to its constitutional limits. For more information, visit

Breaking News: County Supervisor Lange's signs not compliant.

Pictured below is a re-election sign from Racine County Supervisor Diane Lange.

Thanks to McCain Feingold everyone knows that all political material must have an authorized and paid for statement on all printed, published or broadcasted with the campaign treasurer announced.

This leaves only two thoughts either Supervisor Lange is trying to hide something or she is just incompetent. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I do not think there is any intended malice here just very sloppy work on her part.

There are official complaints being filed against these illegal signs.

(Before someone brings it up the little scribbles in the lower right hand side of the sign are printers markings, not a disclaimer)

Breaking News: The electoral ethics of Ken Lumpkin.

In the wake of recent prosecutions in the State of Wisconsin elected officials clearly know better than to do politics on government email accounts.

Racine County Supervisor Ken Lumpkin clearly cares nothing for the rules. Lumpkin is running for re-election for County Supervisor and he is also running for Alderman in Racine’s 4th Aldermanic District.

Pictured below is a fund raising letter sent by Lumpkin to many political figures governmental email accounts. Lumpkin sent the email from his work email as is his usual practice with his county work.

If he had emailed this from his county email it would have been a crime.

However, what Lumpkin is doing by sending this to so many other governmental employees is opening them up to misconduct charges. As an elected County Supervisor, Lumpkin should clearly know better than to open up all of these people to possible violations of conducting political work on government emails.

Lumpkin forwarded this email to:

Theresa Cotton-Kendrick, Racine County Board Secretary
Daris Hodges, Ridgewood Health Care
Tracye Dyess, Racine Water & Wastewater Utilities
Joe Harris, Department of Workforce Development
Karen Nelson, Racine County Supervisor
Diane Lange, Racine County Supervisor
Michael Miklasevich, Racine County Supervisor
Morris Reece, City of Racine Fair Housing Director
Seyoum Mengesha, Department of Commerce minority business specialist
Kimberly Stephenson, Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

There are many others listed but these are the government emails Lumpkin solicited in a fund raising letter. Let me make this perfectly clear. The people listed here did nothing wrong unless they replied in any manner other than to tell Lumpkin that they can not conduct politics on their government email accounts. If they did reply to assist Lumpkin in any way then they have opened themselves up to a possible violation.

The ethical issue here is Lumpkin’s in soliciting to these people at their government accounts in the first place. I know Lumpkin is a smart enough guy to know that he is openeing up all of these people to possible illegal activity. So what this clearly says is that from an ethical perspective Lumpkin just does not care, or does not think he will get caught.

One last time here, by using his work email Lumpkin did not violate the rule of law. However, from an ethical stance Lumpkin is way over the line. As an elected official Ken Lumpkin is way over the line.

Sorry folks.

My internet went down over the weekend so my apologies for two days of no posting.

Look back later today for two breaking news stories regarding the Racine County Supervisor elections.
